My game is crashing or I have other connectivity problems because of conflicting software.
From Relic Mod Wiki
Solution: Check the list below to make sure you have your programs properly configured:
- McAfee Antivirus - Reportedly causes a connection problem. Some users found uninstalling it and reinstalling it just with the anti-virus part (no privacy protection) helps. You can do this through the Add/Remove Software function in Windows. Users found the Privacy Protection feature of McAfee caused the most problems. Some users also disabled the program before playing, and enabled it when finished playing.
- Norton - Needs to be configured properly. Make sure it is added to the Threat Category Exclusion list. Also make sure it is allowed through the firewall.
- Bit Defender 10 - Causes COH crash problems, usually while loading levels/maps for play. Uninstalling seems to be the only option.
- Nod23 Antivirus - Needs to be configured properly. In the 'IMON' setup, under the Miscellaneous tab, click the 'Edit' button in the Exclusion section. Then just add RelicCOH.exe to the exclusion list and accept all changes.
- Net Limiter - Needs to be uninstalled. Version 2.8 may allow CoH to operate normally.
- Windows Anti-Spyware Beta - Reportedly disabling this lessens interference with CoH.
- Windows Defender - Reportedly disabling this helps connectivity.
- Content Protect - Reportedly disabling this lessens interference with CoH.
- Sunrocket VOIP - Needs to be configured properly. Don't place the "Gizmo" between the modem and router; instead, connect it to any of the router ports via the Gizmo's WAN port. Then just connect the router to the modem like normal.
- Spkrmon - Reportedly disabling or killing this process lessens interference with CoH.
- Internet Download Manager - Needs to be uninstalled.
- cFosSpeed - Needs to be uninstalled. You can also try to configure this properly via instructions on their website.
- Zone Alarm Security Suite - Older versions may cause problems and may need to be uninstalled.
- My SQL 2005 / My SQL Server 2005 Express - Disabling this program helps connectivity.
